Which sticks to use with IQOS ILUMA

TEREA are tobacco sticks developed for the IQOS ILUMA tobacco heating system. TEREA sticks are the same size as HEETS, Fiit and BLENDS. However, they have different designs. In the tobacco part of the TEREA stick there is a metal plate covered with stainless steel. This is what the IQOS ILUMA system heats.

TEREA, HEETS and Fiit sticks are similar only in size. HEETS and Fiit created IQOS and lil tobacco heating systems with a heating blade or needle that penetrates the tobacco and heats it from the inside.

IQOS ILUMA devices do not have a built-in blade and use induction heating technology. Accordingly, if you insert HEETS and Fiit into IQOS ILUMA, the stick simply will not heat up.

Can IQOS ILUMA be used with BLENDS sticks?

Again, no.

Although the BLENDS and TEREA sticks are sealed with filter caps, the IQOS ILUMA and BONDS devices heat tobacco differently. So the sticks are fundamentally different in their internal design.

Bonds works using RoundHeat technology, heating the stick along the contour directly from the walls of the heating chamber. IQOS Iluma heats the metal plate inside the Terea stick without heating it outside.

If you insert BLENDS into IQOS ILUMA, it will not harm the device (although we still do not recommend doing this), but heating will not start, since BLENDS sticks do not have a built-in heating plate.

Can IQOS ILUMA be used with cigarettes?

No, you can't do that either.

IQOS ILUMA can only be used with the intended sticks. Cigarettes are not suitable for him at all. They contain tobacco processed using a different technology - it is not moistened with glycerin and is not ground finely enough, so it will not heat up to evaporate the tobacco aerosol. And technologically this is impossible - IQOS is not intended for smoking cigarettes, since it heats the tobacco and does not burn it. Even if you insert a cigarette into IQOS Iluma and turn it on, there will be no aerosol.

Remember: IQOS ILUMA line accessories can only be used with TEREA sticks specifically designed for them.
